As the election draws near, everyone asks, “Who are you voting for?”
Two seniors in AP Government exemplify the divide in the election. They are liberal Savanna Fillmore and conservative Nadia Doherty. Although they are seniors, they were not old enough to vote November 8.
Who are you supporting in this year’s presidential election?
Nadia: Donald Trump
Savanna: Definitely Hillary Clinton
What are some things that stand out to you about your candidate? Good things and bad things.
N: He’s a racist and immature. He doesn’t have a lot of experience either, but I like his economic policies.
S: Clinton’s a hardcore feminist, and I like that she focuses on women’s rights and families. Her email scandal isn’t good though.
How do you feel about the email scandal that follows Hillary?
N: I think a lot of people overlook it. They don’t pay enough attention to it.
S: It’s not good, but I don’t think it should define what she brings to the table.
Do you feel that Donald Trump is fit to be president?
N: I don’t think either one of them is fit for the presidency.
S: No! He’s a racist, disrespectful and crazy.
